1. Start with work area (File > New) and use the illustration as a
reference:
2. Use the text tool to type a name (similar to what the illustration shows
below) and make sure you position it so you can add more the one button.

3. This is what I use (text/size/color)
// Make sure you always name your items. In this case the name of the button
name is is “button_name”

4. Now once you have decide what you want your button name to be use the
line tool
(see illustration below) (you can choose any color you like, I used gray
#c0c0c0.)
// Make sure you always name your items. In this case the name of the line is
“line_1″

5. Once you have created the, position it according to the illustration below
(use the select tools).
Now you should have something similar to the illustration below:

6. Converting these 2 items in a button is pretty simple.
Select both of the item (hold now Ctrl and point your mouse on each
items, once there selected click right and select Grouping > Group as
Button)
use the illustration as a reference

If you did the grouping right, it should look somewhat like this:
